Ford Fusion

Ford Fusion is a midsize sedan that offers a choice of the four-cylinder engine and six-speed automatic transmission. Compete with the Hyundai Sonata, Toyota Camry, Nissan Altima and Honda Accord for a new 2016Baru. the Center control panel features physical buttons for easier use.

There is a package S new look that includes 18-inch black painted wheels, fog lamps, and a rear spoiler. There is also a cold-weather package SE recently which added remote start, heated cloth seats, and all-weather floor mats.

The good news: once again there is a choice of V-6 engines for Ford Fusion after some years during which major Dearborn family sedan offered only four-bangers. Better news: it's 2.7-liter twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V-6 makes 325 horsepower, the engine we've seen before in the F-150 pickup and the Edge crossover. In Fusion, it appears just under the hood of the sport, who joined the luxury-focused Platinum new models in the lineup the revision-to-2017.

Dedicated Ford observer will recognize this as the return of sports Fusion was introduced for 2010 and drop when the car was redesigned for 2013. Refresh the medium term for ' 17 brings several changes  no need to repair our eyes-out styling, upgraded interior, and most interestingly, the sport model tested here.

The original 2010 Fusion sport used V-6 3.5-liter naturally aspirated engine making 263 horsepower, roughly the same as what you'll find at V-6s then available on the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord, two Ford cars seem to pursue relentlessly for sales award in the category. V-6s account for only incremental numbers to all the makers of this, but any buyer is important when You're competing for the Crown of the sale.

Ford's EcoBoost provides obvious bragging rights as the first modern family sedan to bust through 300 hp barrier, and that many candidates outmuscle sports sedan in the near-luxury, too. There is much rough press  too many, really  for vehicle front-wheel-drive (see our review of the giant Lincoln MKX with this machine). Then the Fusion sports standard all-wheel-drive system that operates in a mode to detect drive each wheel slip. And easy enough to induce the condition with 380 lb-ft of torque. If you are willing to switch from digital display tachometer (it's too small anyway) in the instrument panel, there is a graphic picture of live shows available for torque is being shifted to the rear axle in real time. Entertaining, if you are not too busy going to fast for the eye-ball it. (Pro tip: check for launch at the dirt road.)

Outside of sports, represented by a Black mesh grille with chrome surround, the subtly integrated spoiler decklid, and four exhaust tips. Inside, the sport features a charcoal gray with leather, suede, contrast stitching, metal matte-so, and faux-carbon-fiber accents. The plastic at the top of the cabin is done well, but the bottom of the dashboard and the door panels look and feel cheaper. You should go for the Platinum model or the Lincoln MKZ if you're looking for a plusher environment. And if the EPA city fuel economy rating of 17 mpg bothers you, go read about hybrid models.

Sports Fusion real charm is all below the surface. Power translates to dash to 60 mph in 5.1 seconds and through the quarter-mile in 13.7 on 101 mph. this segment which was 4.3 seconds to 60 mph is considered quite good and the car that took nearly nine seconds is considered acceptable. 278-hp V-6 Honda Accord the previous rule for performance in a bunch of these, up to 60 mph in 5.8 seconds and through the quarter-mile in 14.4 in 99. (Chrysler 200 soon-to-be-defunct did a little better with the V-6 engine is naturally aspirated 295-hp.) While the turbocharged Ford JAB simply remove the concern about the merger to the highway or convey that your favorite truck plant two-line (check out the incredible time 30 to 50-and 50-to-70-mph), there are other hardware drivers to involve playing Fusion of sports, especially computer-controlled Adaptive damping system.

Press the button S in the center of the new-for-' 17 dial-operated shifters to sharper sports reflexes. Adaptive system-Tautens the damping, improved steering effort, speeding up throttle response and artificially increase the amp engine sound. Button Salso involves more aggressive shifting program of the six-speed automatic transmission (heavy-duty unit than in other Fusions) and gives you more control over the standard paddle shifters. It automatically upshifts at 6000 rpm no matter what you do with the paddle, but it will hold the gear through corners and rev-match downshifts in braking.

All of this changed on the track performance measurable, but it makes driving more entertaining. Shock, especiallydo a great job of supporting the attack aggressively curved path while maintaining the quality of the ride that does not alarm Your grandmother. Adaptive shock all but commonplace in the pricier sedans, luxury and many near a crossover-utility vehicle but too late to trickle down to the mass market.

With the standard size of Tire Goodyear all season, 235/40R -19, on certain sports gray painted aluminum wheels, lateral acceleration around our skidpad fit Accord 0.84 g, which is good for this class
