4. Use a variety of media such as pictures and youtube videos

5. If you can afford to try to create posts that detail and not rambling. Detail here the intent is an article that is more than 2500 words. So if you do not want to be too "suffered" in the SEO offpage; then you could divert his ordeal to SEO "onpage" ....

By doing these 5 things above then you can beat the powerful blog competitor more easily. But of course you still need the backlink as voting to Google that your blog does indeed contain quality content approved by the virtual world community; It's just that the backlinks you need will be reduced much from before.
